Whew… here is the final chapter of volume 2. Uh, I’ll upload the whole volume later (and that might as well mean *much* later), so for now please use the category link in order to download the previous chapters if you will. Staying up way too late anyways…
In this chapter Inori goes to take the exam for the exorcist license and… uh, nothing really happens, but there is some more “humour” and fanservice. If you want my opinion, the story (along with Inori and Luu’s relationship) was mostly going downhill throughout this volume… well, whatever. Finished it off for completeness’s sake, but I don’t really think I’m gonna work on the next volume unless it sees a drastic increase in quality. ^-^;
In other news:
My old H10 finally gave up, so I found myself in need of a new MP3 player… actually I liked the H10 so much that I decided to get a player from the same manufacturer. Settled on a sweet little thing going under the codename of B20; I was quite surprised by how affordable it was considering its quite impressive set of features – about 1/6 of what I paid for the H10 some 5 years ago… well, on the other hand it was the pinnacle of playerdom back then, at least here in Poland. ^-^; Anyways, at first I was quite wary about B20′s interface (the whole screen is a physical direction pad!?) – well, fortunately it doesn’t seem like it’s about to die soon. In fact the interface and the OS are a lot of fun to use; the fact I don’t need to install any additional software on my computer is also a relief. The ability to set a user wallpaper is a nice touch… points to whoever can guess what pairing stars on mine. :3
You might have noticed how I haven’t really written about music for a while… that’s partly ’cause nothing interesting has really happened to me in that field since “Black Clouds & Silver Linings” last year (although I have bought My Dying Bride’s “For Lies I Sire” in the mean while, as well as a copy of “Master Of Puppets” recently). However, this might change soon, as I managed to find a really nice CD shop in my city a while ago – to my surprise they even had Circus Maximus‘s “Isolate” in store, something that to me had seemed impossible to buy around these parts!
Don’t know about you, but from my experience, when you ask people about progressive, you usually get Dream Theater and Opeth, perhaps Mastodon or Porcupine if you’re lucky enough; I’ve always been aware there are others, but even in my case it isn’t long since I learned that the number of other, great bands out there that are often next to completely unheard of is quite astounding… oh well. Anyways, this gem has been growing to be my favourite album as of recent; Circus Maximus somehow manage a pretty sound without sounding too pretty, and I guess you could say their 2007 release is less of a standard power metal CD than their previous one – which is not to say their musicianship wasn’t outstanding on “The 1st Chapter” as well! The set is strong from start to finish; the opening “A Darkened Mind” and “Zero”, a bit of a relief in the overall heavy selection, are memorable, but the focus is definitely on the seventh track here – gotta say, “Mouth of Madness” is pure love!
Yeah… Shadow Gallery’s “First Light” is another album I’d like to get eventually; sadly, the shop didn’t have that one. On the other hand, I’ve been doing some research lately and run into several more interesting names – will have to ask for those soon, too. ^-^
