Touhou Project doujin – Onee-chan de Asobo! (Hinoki Bayashi)

A bit of relief after the previous release, I suppose – and another Touhou doujin, this time seen on Pixiv. And a part of a larger book apparently, though I haven’t bumped into the rest of it… anyone? Either way, it’s a pairing that I don’t think has been featured on the blog previously, and it’s a rather nice story in its own right!

Also, some of you might be aware of the fanmade yuri role-playing game that has surfaced from the shadowy depths of covert development not so long ago… What can I say, I’ve applied to be a beta-tester out of curiosity and originally planned to write a mini-review of the beta – however, the scale of this project has proven vastly larger than I predicted, and considering the amount of work and dedication evidently put in the game, I simply couldn’t possibly shove it off with a half-baked review.

As such, I will just advertise the /u/ thread containing the original news and the appeal for beta testers – the second round of testing is about to begin, so if you’re quick, you might still be able to hop in! (Look for the author’s e-mail linked under the words ‘Saintbomber’.)

Briefly speaking, it’s a RPG made in RPGmaker, in the vein of the early Final Fantasies, but noteworthy in that there is pretty much no combat – it’s driven entirely by walking and talking. That aside, it conveys the look and feel of classic console RPGs quite perfectly – combined with the prominent yuri content and some outstanding writing, I believe it’s something a yuri and games fan should look forward to. And expect a real review once I can devote a sufficient amount of time to it!

    Whoa, this game sounds reaaaal interesting! i’m definitely looking forward to hearing reviews on it. By the way, what’s the official title of the game?

  2. Saintbomber says:

    Thanks for the shoutout!

    I love Satori, and this is pretty cute. I am waiting on the edge of my seat for a serious Satori dojin.

  3. Saintbomber says:

    Oops, missed that one:
    It’s called Embric of Wulfhammer’s Castle, or “A tale of Wulfhammer, starring the good Duchess Elstwhere.”

    Postin news in a manga thread.

  4. CrimsonDX says:

    Yay Satori! Seriously not enough of her.

  5. Ehud says:

    Cute. Many thanx.

  6. Winterbraid says:

    @Shiya*Terra:
    Hehe, guess the question has been answered already. Actually, I wasn’t sure if it was the final title, so I decided not to reveal it on my own.

    @Saintbomber:
    I like Satori too, though perhaps a bit more with Kuu. And yeah, serious doujins are good, and rare…

    @CrimsonDX, Ehud:
    Glad you like it.
