A few days ago, I wrote about the informal Touhou doujinshi event called Air Reitaisai; the participating circles graciously decided to make their chosen works available online as a form of support for the Japanese earthquake victims. One such circle was the YuyuYoumu powerhouse Heterochromia; and I was very pleased to see that another great Touhou yuri artist, Atoki of the circle Atkinson, released not just one, but two of their older books as part of the event.
One of them is their first Yuugi x Parsee story titled Hakoniwa no Futari, which has already been translated and can be found in English.
The other, presented here, is Kakuritsu dake ga Shitteiru, a short and sweet doujin about Yukari and Reimu – but fans of Marisa will also find something for themselves. (Unbelievable as it may be, the author indeed did get the paradox presented in the story right – you can learn more about it, including a mathematical proof, on Wikipedia. That was probably the biggest piece of mind screw I encountered in a long, long while.)
I think the stance of the Air Reitaisai participants is quite commendable. Even more so if they also happen to be awesome yuri artists. We should show our appreciation by visiting Atkinson’s Pixiv and dropping them a few views/ratings.
Site Info
If you saw the announcement on solelo.com earlier, you know that solelo.com will probably go down in two months. To keep the body count as low as possible, Wings of Yuri has moved to the address ghostyuri.com – this is the new address, so please update your bookmarks and hyperlinks.
I’m expecting that in a couple days, the old site solelo.com will start displaying a periodic prompt to redirect the viewer to the new site.
Where has the Other D/L section gone?
I know this will be a disappointment for some of you; but after a lot of consideration, I decided not to recreate the Other D/L section or provide a replacement. It is in part due to the policies of Yurikai, the donator of server space. However, my primary motivation is that I believe the section in its shape and scale exceeds the purpose of Wings of Yuri – which is to provide a place for translations of yuri materials.
To speak bluntly, the old site’s Other D/L section – with 2973 comments and counting – has reached standalone forum proportions, and that might be the right way to go if you wish for it to continue on – perhaps even in an better, more functional form. I’m not planning to devote my personal resources to developing an off-site replacement, but if you care about it, I suggest that you use the existing forum or message board software packages to create one.
The Other D/L section on the old site solelo.com will continue to function as long as the site is operational.
Yurikai.com should just mass copy all your translated work. Then again, the way they index their stuff is retarded, but hey, it’s better than nothing.
Also, touhou.wikia.com/wiki/Comics has a pretty good collection of translated and non-translated doujin.
Wow, the Monty Hall problem is one of the most interesting things I’ve ever read on Wiki. o_o
Many thanx Winterbraid.
Wuuuut D/L section ? yurikai ??
Don’t care. All I need is Wings of Yuri. Though the change to ghostyuri does made me wonder why.
Thank you for the translation winterbraid.
Would be fun to keep the D/L Section with some kind of a forum or just a place with all our work uploaded in one place without having to go through all posts..
I hope your team work bring back the D/L section. I find it a lot easier to interact with other viewers and easier to find the latest stuff. Maybe this site is still in the process updating…but I do hope very much for the D/L section. Right now, I’m trying to familar myself with the change and I find there aren’t much around…I find the D/L section very helpful and I believe some others might have too. When I have question about yuri stuffs or needs my manga update I came to this section hoping for news and here I am wondering if you guys would bring it back. Thanks.
