When I count, there are only you and I together. Short story about the Hifuu Club (a.k.a the Sealing Club, i.e. Maribel and Renko). It’s based on the story in the official CD “Neo-traditionalism of Japan,” which comes after the story “Trojan Green Asteroid,” so you might want to read those first if you haven’t already.

Interesting. Kind of abstract. Bit of an existential feel.
Wish there had been a little more Hifuu kiss kiss! hehe!
There’s a brighter book about them, but I don’t really feel like doing it. I might do another one about a different couple, although it isn’t exactly lovey-dovey.
Maribel and Renko stories are my favourite out of the entire Touhou universe. I like the dynamic of those two, and the little bits of information we have of the era they live in makes it even more mysterious than the fantasy world that is Gensokyo.
Mari’s link with Yukari is another point of interests and countless theories and speculation, as well as uneasiness. ZUN made it clear from the very beggining of “Neo-traditionalism of Japan”, right at the cover were a white and an orange fumes are drawing a line between Mari and Renko. Mari’s power will eventually create a boundary that Renko will not be able to go through. Among the Mari/Yukari theories, the one stating they are actually the same person describes the previously mentioned statement: Mari going through the boundary of time, helping create and living in a world where Renko does not exist.
As excited as I was with a continuation of their story with Neo-traditionalism, I did fear the worst after looking at that cover. The way their story can develop is both charming and worrying. That’s the kind of mystic they have.
I wish ZUN would let their story fly beyond the CD releases.
I thought Benishake was overreacting at first, but I didn’t notice the cover of Neo-traditionalism. I hope Maribel and Renko don’t get separated. The relative lack of stories about them might be a part of what makes them up.
